We believe in patient-centered care, which means you’ll never feel rushed or left in the dark about your eye health. Our doctors take time to explain your results and answer your questions, empowering you to make informed decisions. Whether it’s your first exam in years or part of your routine wellness plan, we’re committed to providing personalized, high-quality care at every visit.

Pediatric Eye Exams
Many common childhood vision problems, like nearsightedness, lazy eye, and focusing difficulties, may not be obvious to parents or teachers. That’s why we recommend routine eye exams starting at age 3, and again before starting school. We use age-appropriate techniques and advanced diagnostic tools like Optos retinal imaging, corneal topography, and binocular vision testing to catch issues early, when they’re easiest to treat.
Our team works hard to create a positive, relaxed environment so kids feel comfortable during their visit. If your child needs glasses, has trouble with reading or learning, or has a family history of eye conditions, we’re here to guide you through every step. Early detection and treatment can make a world of difference, and we’re proud to partner with parents in protecting their child’s long-term vision and success.

Diabetic Eye Exams
Diabetic eye exams go far beyond a standard vision check. In addition to evaluating your prescription and overall eye health, we perform a detailed examination of the retina, optic nerve, and blood vessels at the back of the eye. At O’Fallon Family Eye Care, we use Optos ultra-widefield imaging to capture a 200-degree view of the retina without the need for dilation in many cases. We also utilize OCT (Optical Coherence Tomography) to detect microscopic swelling or changes in the retinal layers—crucial for diagnosing and monitoring diabetic macular edema and early-stage retinopathy.
After your exam we provide detailed reports and communicate directly with your primary care physician or endocrinologist to support your systemic health management. This collaborative approach ensures your entire care team is aligned, helping to preserve both your vision and long-term health.
Even if your blood sugar is well controlled and your vision seems stable, annual diabetic eye exams remain one of the most important ways to catch issues before they become serious. Our goal is to give you peace of mind through proactive, thorough care using the most advanced tools available.

Skip the Eye Dilation
No one enjoys the discomfort of eye dilation. That’s why at O’Fallon Family Eyecare, we’ve designed eye exams that typically eliminate the need for dilation and air puffs. Now you can experience a fast, thorough exam without the hassle or side effects of dilation.
Without dilation, your exam is quicker, and you can immediately try on glasses to see how they look. Plus, for those trying contacts for the first time, the process is much easier without the blurriness that comes from dilation. And best of all, you won’t have to deal with hours of light sensitivity after your appointment.
You may be wondering how we can still conduct a thorough retinal evaluation without dilating your pupils. The answer lies in our advanced Optomap retinal camera. This technology takes an ultra-wide image of your retina in seconds, giving the doctor a detailed view that goes beyond what dilation can provide. We even show you the image and walk you through what’s healthy (or not so healthy) in your eyes.

Our State-of-the-Art Technology

Optomap Retinal Imaging
The Optomap provides the doctor with a wider, more detailed view of your retina than traditional dilation alone. This allows for a comprehensive evaluation, and the doctor will share the images with you, so you can see exactly what’s happening inside your eyes.

iWellness OCT Screening
The iWellness OCT screening helps the doctor assess your eyes for early signs of glaucoma that might not be detected with traditional exams until much later. It’s a fast, non-invasive way to check for potential risks and protect your vision.

Digital Prescriptions
Using electronic measurements to determine your prescription is not only faster, but it also allows the doctor to fine-tune your prescription with greater precision. You’ll be able to see exactly how your vision has changed.

No Air Puff Tonometry
Tonometry is a quick and crucial test for measuring eye pressure, which helps detect glaucoma. We make this process more comfortable by using advanced technology that measures your pressure without the discomfort of drops or air puffs.
