Advanced Technology for Exceptional Eye Care

At O’Fallon Family Eye Care, one of our core values is staying at the forefront of the latest advancements in optometric technology. We believe modern tools don’t just enhance what we can see as doctors—they create a more comfortable, efficient, and educational experience for our patients. From faster, more accurate diagnoses to more personalized treatments and better-fitting glasses and contacts, our investment in technology is ultimately an investment in your care.

Diagnostic Technology

We use Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) to detect early signs of retinal disease and glaucoma, often before symptoms arise. This powerful imaging tool also helps us assess scleral lens fitting for patients with complex corneal conditions. Every comprehensive exam includes Optos ultra-widefield retinal imaging, allowing us to examine over 80% of the retina without dilation in most cases—making the exam more thorough and more comfortable.

Our corneal topographer is essential for precisely mapping the shape of the eye, especially in contact lens fittings. It’s a critical tool in designing custom orthokeratology (Ortho-K) lenses and diagnosing corneal irregularities. For patients with dry eye symptoms, we use the Keratograph K5m to perform detailed meibography (imaging of the oil glands in the eyelids) and non-invasive tear break-up time (NITBUT) testing to better understand the quality and stability of your tear film. We also use slit lamp photography to document and track changes in the front of the eye with high-resolution imaging.

Advanced Treatment Options

For patients with moderate to severe dry eye, we offer Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) therapy, a powerful in-office treatment that addresses inflammation, meibomian gland dysfunction, and ocular rosacea. IPL not only improves tear film stability but also provides cosmetic benefits—reducing redness, improving skin texture, and offering a refreshed appearance around the eyes.

High-Tech Optical Experience

When it’s time to select your glasses, we use the Optikam digital measurement system to capture highly precise optical measurements. This allows us to match you with the latest generation of digitally designed lenses—offering wider, sharper, and more comfortable vision than traditional lenses. Whether it’s progressive lenses, computer glasses, or single vision, we ensure your lenses are custom-tailored for how you see the world.
