DRY EYE TREATMENT

Relief so you can get back to enjoying your life again.

Are you suffering from Dry Eyes?

Dry eyes is a very common condition, and the prevalence is increasing year by year.  The symptoms are eye irritation, burning, tearing, redness, fluctuating vision and eye fatigue. In addition, dry eyes can cause contact lenses to be less comfortable.  Have you ever noticed blurry vision that gets better after a few blinks? That’s dryness too.

Dry eye might sound like a simple condition, but it is actually very complicated. Many things can influence dry eyes, such as health conditions, medications, computer usage, and exposure to air flow. Other factors such as blink rate, lid closure, tear production, and tear evaporation also play a critical role.

Because Dr. Hegyi has years of experience and diagnosing and treating dry eyes, he has developed a precise method to both detect the various causes of dry eyes and treat them so you can get relief.

Dry eyes (Ocular Surface Disease) is both chronic and progressive.  It can’t be cured, but we can effectively treat the underlying causes.  If it is not treated, more damage will occur making it more difficult to treat later.

Proper diagnosis is critical to improving dry eye symptoms.

When you come to us to treat your symptoms, we first need to find out the underlying cause. We find it helpful when patients understand that what most people call dry eye is really a group of conditions that overall we call ocular surface disease.

Any of the following factors can cause you to suffer from dry eye. Is it not enough water or oil? Allergy, inflammation, bacteria or lid function? Something systemic or environmental?

We run a series of tests that will identify all of the conditions that are positive, then we pair each one with a treatment that we know will work.

Once the diagnosis is confirmed, the doctor will discuss all options with you and create a treatment plan with you, specific to your type of dry eye.
